2015 Flashback 5: The MediaThursday 31st December 2015
Year after year The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company gets a little bit more attention from bloggers, film crews and journalists. Half of whom are seeking something different and the other half seeking something traditional!
By celebrating the old cottage industry of seaweed collection in Pembrokeshire and using laverbread in all sorts of dishes, Beach Food celebrates the hundred year old heritage of Welsh cuisine while simultaneously appealing to those discovering seaweed for its tremendous health benefits for the first time.
This year Jonathan appeared in the BBC’s ‘My Life on a Plate’ series with Brian Turner where he looked at cooking with foraged seaweed. Again on the BBC he took a couple foraging at Freshwater West whilst they were on their quest to find a new home on the hit show Escape to the country.
Most recently Jonathan featured on a cookery slot on ITV’s This Morning. He and Lisa Faulkner explored the seashore and cooked with what they found.
In the press The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company’s retail products appeared in the Jamie Oliver Mag and Coast mag. Welsh Coastal Life and Pembrokeshire County Living both did full Beach Food features.
Thanks for the love everyone!
